Master Analog Clocks — Read Every Minute

Level 5 of 53rd Grade and up, adults reviewing

The final level: reading any time down to the exact minute. Between each large tick mark sit four small marks, each worth 1 minute. Once you master the 5-minute positions, counting those four small marks is the last skill you need to read any clock at a glance.

Skills You Will Practice

  • Counting small tick marks (1 minute each)
  • Reading any time from 1:00 to 12:59
  • Building speed through repetition
  • Distinguishing near-identical hand positions

How This Drill Works

All 720 possible hour-minute combinations appear in random order. Times no longer land on 5-minute boundaries, so you must count the small tick marks between the large ones. Each small mark = 1 minute. Challenge yourself to beat your average solve time.
