Tell Time to the Exact Minute — Clock Worksheet

Exact-minute reading requires counting the small tick marks between large markers. This worksheet provides practice with times that do not land on 5-minute boundaries — the trickiest clocks to read. Students also practice writing times in both analog and digital notation.

Printable Worksheet Activities

  1. Read 15 clock faces with times between 5-minute markers (e.g., 3:47, 7:23)
  2. Draw hands on blank clocks for given exact-minute times
  3. Convert between analog and digital: draw the clock for '6:38'
  4. Elapsed time: 'A movie starts at 2:15 and runs for 43 minutes. What time does it end? Draw the end time on the clock.'

Teacher / Parent Note

Use a worksheet with clocks showing non-5-minute times (e.g., :03, :17, :38, :52). Students must count small tick marks carefully. Combine with elapsed time word problems.
